A Thank You to All of My Unrequited Lovers.

I'm sitting here thinking of some of these guys below who have floated in and out of my life and what could have been.  They have brought me to the place I'm at today.  I salute you, even though you have no clue. In no particular order : -The guy who was two grades below me.  I circled his yearbook picture when I was in 4th grade and he was in 2nd, because he was cute.  He got hotter and hotter by the year.  Our paths did not cross until we were introduced three years ago on Thanksgiving Eve at our hometown watering hole.  I haven't spoken to or seen him since. -My soulmate who would not break up with his girlfriend, now turned wife.  Wishing you guys all the best! -My 65 year-old college professor.  I swear this was true and utter love on my end.  To this day, everytime I hear the song 'Red Red Wine' by multi-platinum, 5 time Grammy Award winning group UB40, I think of him and get chills.  If you're out there Ron ...

the 5 life-lessons i learned this weekend

1.  the side-view mirror of my car has a MAJOR blind spot 2.  Jerry's Famous Deli has pretty good fresh squeezed orange juice, but its not as good as the fresh squeezed orange juice at Paty's 3.  Paty's in Toluca Lake has the best fresh squeezed orange juice I have ever or, will ever have in my entire life 4.  the worst place to drive is up in the Hollywood Hills.  I'd rather drive over broken glass, in a convertible, while its raining and it is 33 degrees out 5.  if you want to see Justin's Timberlake's house, don't.  It becomes a little awkward when his house is at a dead end and you have to turn around and his security guard is staring at you, and he's not staring in a "I want your body" type of way

Here We Are Again : Letters to Lindsay v. 2.1

February 2, 2011 Dear Lindslace, It's been a while, how are you? Don't answer that. I think I know. Today is pretty bittersweet for me. On the bitter side, I hate to see you go through what you are going through, but on the sweet side, I'm slightly stoked because if it goes the way I hope, we could quite possibly start up our correspondence again. You can see the pickle I'm in. As I sit here in my office on my lunch break  eating a delicious Macho Taco from Del Taco:   I am watching you walk into the courthouse for your arraignment: I don't know if you were trying to throw off the media and make it seem like you were going to the courthouse to get married, but it wasn't working for you today...at all..and this is coming from a girl who is completely comfortable wearing shirts with holes in the armpits. Anyway I'm getting off topic.  This is just a brief letter basically saying I hope everything turns out well, but then again I hope it doesn...

I just need to say that many of you people (yeah I said you people) are looking at this Miley situation all wrong. No one is admitting that Miley has great taste in music, what are you ashamed to say it because she's a "Disney" chick?  Was anyone even paying attention to it?  I know I was, the song was the first thing I noticed, even before the enormous bong that was in her hand.  Anyone who is playing ANY song from Bush's Sixteen Stone album is legit.  GREAT SONG. Kudos to you Miley. But with Miley being the international phenom she is, she's getting slack for all the negative stuff going on in the video (i.e. the bong smoking, cursing, and bad tripping)... she can't be tamed... check out the video with a great soundtrack here... To nip this in the butt and avoid future issues, I've decided to give my unsolicted advice to some people involved in this situation... I can do this, I have a degree in Psychology....trust...

Movie Review: Love and Other Drugs

Image
I've decided to add movie reviewer to my resume.  Here is my first one. Last night I went to see 'Love and Other Drugs' starring Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal with my sisters.  When I say 'sisters' I mean my actual 'sisters' not to be confused with my 'sistas' Anyway a brief synopsis about this movie.  It is basically about love and drugs, not bad drugs, just zoloft, prozac, and viagra. My review: Jake Gyllenhaal is the most under appreciated actor of our time.  I've totally taken him for granted will never do so again... clearly... If you like what you see here, go see the movie. p.s.  Anne Hathaway is good in it too.

chandra's favorite things

In the spirit of the upcoming holiday season and Oprah's final favorite things episode, I thought it's time I show the world a few of my favorite things (well...the legal ones).  I have a lot of things that I like, but this week there were a couple that were strange.  I finally realized there may be a chemical imbalance in my head when Wednesday had come along and I had already threatened to literally murder two of my friends on two separate ocassions within two hours of each other.  (I then apologized within an 1/2 hour of each threat via Facebook, and we have moved on as if nothing had ever happened).  Here are some of my favorite things during the week of November 17th- November 21st.  The Ever Constant Favorites. hipster? nah. duh. no explanation needed. the black cardigan...literally goes with everything, even my mesh shorts Favorite Boy of the Week. this may be inappropiat...

the comedic stylings of a/an _______ (fill in the blank)

Lately I've been watching a lot of stand up.  I've been inspired by people such as Sarah Silverman and Iliza Shlesinger (both Jews, just a little FYI funfact) and Erin Gilligan (if you haven't heard of her, google her, you won't regret it). I finally decided one day last week that instead of coming home from work and pounding a 6-pack of Miller Lites and considering it my dinner, I would be more productive and write a mini show.  Once I did, I decided to go to an open mic night.  Turns out my apartment was having one that night.  The turnout was dismal at best, but you gotta start somewhere. In Part1 I discuss my debilitating fear of phones, my not so normal dreams, and how i plan on scoring my 15 minutes of fame. Part 2  explains the For those of you wondering I didn't quit my day job. the chandra moore comedy whore tour the chandra moore comedy whore tour -   part 2 perks of being black, the # 1 question i'm asked the most, h...
