When I Wasn't Tweeting.

Image
Turns out that I can be deep at times.  I wasn't just tweeting minute by minute during the Oscars tonight.  I was also having a deep, meaningful, and insightful text conversation about me starting my workout regimen. Here is a quick glimpse: The conversation had to end once the French came into the conversation.  It's one thing to have them abundantly involved in my metaphysical (am I using that word right? No?) life, but in my personal real life as well?   In closing, I hope this shows I'm not just this superficial girl that only cares about pop culture and celebrities, I also care about maybe starting to go to the gym and work out.

Funny Chicks That Need to Be On Your Immediate Radar

I’ve shied away from quoting Sarah Silverman to people, I quote Amy Schumer now...to people who have never even heard her jokes or of her. Okay, okay I may have exaggerated; I could NEVER shy away from quoting a Sarah Silverman joke. “He needs to learn to love himself, before I can stop hating his people.” Why would I quote Amy Schumer to someone who is completely oblivious to her existence on planet earth, you ask? Because she deserves to be known, she’s a funny chick. I enjoy spreading the word of laughter. I’d like to think of myself as a disciple of comedy. (Not Judas, nor Peter). So here I am today to list some of the funny females in my life right now. Some are more well known than others, but each of them need to be even better known. Why is this list composed of only girls you ask? Well maybe it’s because I’m jealous that they are so funny and I want to be a funny comedian girl like they all are, whether it be on the internet, TV, or standup. The problem with th...

Things That Concern Me: February 16, 2012: An Open Letter to Chris Brown

Image
I keep my opinions and beliefs about the big things pretty private. For example, there are few that can tell you my stance on abortion, politics, organized religion and stem cell research. A main reason is, my opinions teeter from yay to nay on the daily basis. It depends on my mood, the situation and if it's sunny or cloudy out. I'm still not at that maturity level of an adult, to have solid decisions on certain topics. For the past 3 years, many people have expressed their feelings on Chris Brown, I, secretly, being one of them. While my public proclamations about him have been extremly non-controversial, I have shot out a comical tweet every once and a while. I have even joined in some real life conversations about this guy (can't call him a man). Chris Brown has made it known to his almost 800,000 followers (I do not follow him, and never intend to, but I do glance at his Twitter page every now and again) and the world how he feels about "the haters." Long...

Kill Them With Kindness: How I Turned an Internet Bully Into My Best Friend

The internet. The bloody brilliant internet.  It is a genius way to make friends with complete strangers, some who are completely cooler than everyone in your entire social circle since kindergarten. Recently I have found out that true friendships really can happen on this information super highway. Four days ago I received an email from YouTube that someone named ‘chickenwingsaregood’ commented on one of my videos. I think he (I’m assuming it’s a black guy, I don’t know why) was so mesmerized and in such an emotional overload, that he would type exactly what came to his mind and then 20 seconds later realize he forgot to include something.   From the time I read his very first comment we began, what I can only describe as a dream friendship. I feel like he gets me and I get him right back. I have to thank the internet for documenting the beginning of this life long lasting friendship. Lucky for all of you the internet documents every little thing that...

Then There Are THOSE Wall Posts

Image
We've all been there.  You hop onto Facebook and you’re like “Yes! I gots me a notification yo!”  And it’s always just in time to give you some renewed validation because no one has written on your wall in like 4 days and it’s really effecting your ego.  Then you go to your page and see it's one of those "So and So has just answered a question about you."  You notice it’s from some random person who lived in your dorm hallway freshman year of college.  You never greeted or made eye contact with until 2 months later at the Lacrosse house when you are both plastered standing in line for the bathroom.  The exchange goes something like this: Person lower than acquaintance: Hey!!! You: Hey!!!  Whats up?! Person lower than acquaintance: I’m sooooo wasted. You:  Me too!!  Person lower than acquaintance:  How come we never talk or hang.  We pass each other in the dorms all the time. You:  I dunno dude!...

Things That Concern Me on January 18, 2012

I decided to start this blog topic and each month I will post a few things that I’m concerned with at that moment in time until the end of 2012.   In December, I will see how the lists have progressed and I can assess how I have grown as a person.   My hypothesis is that when I compare the lists month by month we will actually see a steady decline in both maturity and knowledge.   I also predict I may make each of you that read this a little bit dumber (point in case, I had first spelled the word dumber, d-u-m-m-e-r). *I also debated between spelt and spelled. Kourtney Kardashian’s Mommy Blog It came to my attention that Kourtney Kardashian has a mommy blog on her website. How did it come to my attention?   Kourtney tweeted -“Mommy blog time!   My take on time outs and spankings."   Do not get me wrong I LOVE Kourt K, she’s probably my fave Kardash.   It goes Kourtney, Khloe then Rob.   Did I miss anyone in there? No?   Okay, didn’t thi...

How Blackberry Ruined My Friendship...But Then Saved It

Image
The Blackberry Outage of the Century.   I will never forget the day.  It was October 12th, 2011.  It started like any other weekday.  I headed into work, checked my Outlook, TMZ.com, PerezHilton.com, People.com, FunnyOrDie.com, HelloGiggles.com and proceeded to BBM my best friend who lives 3,000 miles away.  Daily BBM is our ritual.  Every single day, all day from the time I get up until the time she goes to bed.  We chat about all the important topics and issues; TV shows from the previous night, celebrity tweets, and when she is officially going to ask me to be the Godmother of her soon to be newborn baby boy. The day started out with the typical BBMs, "90210 has not been doing it for me this season."  Kristen said.   I replied, "Yeah, not for me either, but OMG, how about the ending of The Ringer?   Those last 30 seconds, every week, they get me every week.”  For some reason, maybe it was the three cups of coffee I had, but I ...
